Dear SO! Member:

 

As you may know, the annual picnic is to be held at Edgemont Ranch next
Tuesday, June 8.  See the SO! schedule for more details.

 

Here are directions on how to get there:

 

Picnic directions. The directions for the picnic said to go about 6 miles
east on Florida Rd, which is not possible while Florida is under
construction.  At the moment, there are at least three ways to get there
from Durango:

1.	Take 32nd St east from Main to CR 250; turn right one block to
Florida.  Turn left on Florida and go 4 miles to the picnic entrance across
from the Edgemont Highlands pinecone sculpture 
2.	Take US 160 east to Elmore's Corner.  Turn left on CR 234 and go
about 6 miles until it ends at Florida/CR 240. Turn left for about 1/3 mile
and then turn left into the picnic grounds across from the Edgemont
Highlands pinecone sculpture 
3.	Take College/Goeglin Gulch Rd from 8th Ave across College Mesa to
Florida.  Turn right and go just over 4 miles to the picnic entrance across
from the Edgemont Highlands pinecone sculpture (check this option in the
paper before using it) 

 

We need a couple of volunteers to grill the hamburgers and Brats at the
Picnic.  If willing, call Martha Wackley at 970-247-0967 or e-mail at:

Also, for those who want, we will have a few veggie burgers available.

 

Candidates for Seniors Outdoors office:

At present we have the following candidates for SO! offices, though
additional nominations are welcome at the picnic:

Co-president (2 offices):  Clark Lagow and Betsey Butler

Secretary:  Mary Ann Bryant

Treasurer:  Dorothy Bregar

 

Membership renewals:

Membership renewals were mailed on May 28.  Please send yours in or bring it
to the Visitor Information table at the Picnic on June 8

 

Some of you may be wondering why you received 4 copies of the announcement
that canceled Susan Beck-Brown's hike on Friday.   Let me remind everyone
that SO! Uses Brainstorm as their web host and host for our email list
